the pewter basket
i love pewter for its slightly more nickel colored finish and patina as as well its softness. it is by itb, norway from the base marks as per
macacke.com/norsktinn/marks/marks_i-q.html
.however, i was unable to find out anything about the company or pewter smith. a very cute little basket that is hand forged with a twist handle. it has adorable feet.  it is pewter. it is rectangular. on the long axis, from the outside handle has to the outside base of the other end of the handle is 4 1/4". on its short axis, at its widest, is a little short of 3". from the bottom of a foot to the top of the handle is 3 1/4". the depth of the bowl of the basket is 1 1/4". as a design feature, it has a line of ocher color underneath the top flipped lip. it is very unnoticeable except in the images. with regular light, i never even noticed it.
